All About Essential Oils
I was introduced to Young Living back in 2013 by two friends who I’ve known since high school.
They would reach out to me often, in attempts to meet up with me to talk about this awesome company that sells oils, but I didn’t really entertain the idea of actually meeting up because to be honest, I didn’t really care.
But because they saw the type of life I was attempting to live; one with good health and wellness, they didn’t give up with trying. They believed in the brand and wanted me to learn more because they cared about me & they saw how it can compliment my lifestyle.
So after several attempts of reaching out to me, I gave in and met up with them to see what this was all about. They sold me the story of what it is, how it works, and why I needed it in my life. And tbh, I was completely impressed. I thought the products were very useful & was pleased to have taken the time to learn more about them.
But then, this is when I became a little skeptical...They hit me with the sales pitch & wanted me to sign up to be a distributor member.
Oh sure, I know what this is, another pyramid scheme...
But really it wasn’t. After leaving them, and going home to do a deeper search on youngliving, I quickly came to realize that this was actually a good brand, with good values and ethics, and what they want as a brand is to promote a much healthier society. So what did I do? I bought into them. I got my very first young living starter kit. Not going to lie, I was pretty pumped.
And here we are...7 years later and I’m still using young living products.
So you may be wondering...what even is Young Living anyway? Young living is a company that sells hundreds of essential oils, blends, & oil-infused products but also so much more. Young living promotes a new lifestyle, one of abundance and wellness. And they’re products integrate so well into my daily life, I cant see why I would ever stop using the products or ever stop promoting it to my friends and family. (YES, I’m that guy because I too feel everyone deserves to live well, so when I know about a good product, I share it to the world).
Some of my favorites?
For starters, Peppermint oil is my all time favorite. It was the peppermint oil blend that really sky rocketed my belief in the company. I remember the week of after receiving my starter kit, I was suffering with a massive frontal lobe headache for whatever reason. As soon as I was going to take a Tylenol to alleviate it, I remembered about the oils I bought. Even though the headache was excruciating and I wanted fast relief, I went to the oiI, applied two drops onto my forehead, and almost instantly, the headache vanished. I could not believe the power this little oil had. Something that would of taken 20-30 mins to alleviate if I have taken an OTC pain pill, worked in seconds. Wow!
Lavender has also been another one of my top favorites. Whenever I want to bring myself to a sense of calm & relaxation, I apply a couple of drops onto my wrist, rub both wrist together, and BAM your boy is feeling zen. I love to also apply the oils into my diffuser every night to help me get a good nights rest. Let’s just say, Lavender oils go a long way in terms of the benefits that it can produce for you.
Tea tree is ANOTHER one that I’m obsessed with. With its powerful properties that have made it a skin care mainstay in so many cultures, it has what it takes to create a sense of comfort and beauty onto the appearance of your skin.
